Job Description

As a Restaurant Employee at Nando’s, you will safeguard the financial success of the restaurant by ensuring customer satisfaction and profitability in line with Nando’s brand and operating standards. You will manage a team, ensure the quality of products and service, and exceed brand regulations.

Minimum RequirementsEducation: Matric (Grade 12)

Experience: 3-4 years of restaurant management experience

License: Code 08 Driver’s License

Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to manage a team in a restaurant and kitchen

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

Knowledge of restaurant operations, including people, product, and customer processes

Financial and business acumen

Coaching and mentoring skills

Duties and Responsibilities
People Management
Conduct regular one-on-one sessions with employees, providing coaching and guidance.
Implement corrective actions, performance management, or disciplinary processes.
Conduct performance reviews for Assistant and Junior Restaurant Managers, developing their personal development plans.
Prepare for and initiate disciplinary hearings when necessary.
Monitor behavior to report and address any form of abuse.
Ensure compliance with Department of Labour inspections and audits.
Foster a learning and development environment in the restaurant.
Complete, submit, and monitor payroll information in line with Nando’s policies.


Operational Management


Manage restaurant activities to ensure excellent customer service and efficient operations.
Monitor compliance with Nando’s brand and operational standards.
Resolve Escudo, Qpro, and SOP queries with the Assistant Manager.
Conduct weekly and period close GP counts and calculations.
Perform shift management duties as needed.
Hold weekly management meetings, reviewing minutes and allocating tasks.
Identify and execute business improvement plans after quarterly meetings with the Area Manager.
Implement planned maintenance and minor capital projects with the Area Manager and Regional Facilities Manager.
Work with the Loss Prevention Officer to identify and implement risk management controls.

Financial Management
Provide input into the restaurant budget, review continuously, and manage adherence to established parameters.
Maintain sound financial control of the restaurant.
Facilitate business growth by analyzing income statements and monitoring performance indicators.
Manage income and expenditure to ensure required return on sales/conversion.
Review and sign off on external delivery company invoices weekly.


Investigate and resolve weekly cash shortage reports from the Finance department.
Review all accounts for accuracy monthly.
Marketing Management
Review the Brand touch point check quarterly and implement corrective actions.
Plan and execute quarterly CSI and community initiatives.
Seek opportunities to increase sales and promote the casa.
Build relationships within the local community to drive large-scale product orders (government, corporate, schools).
