Job Opportunity: General Worker (Redline Gate/Guard/Fence Patroller) – 4 Positions Available

We are looking for dedicated individuals to fill 4 General Worker positions focused on gate operations, guarding, and fence patrolling in our Vhembe and Mopani Districts. Each position offers an annual salary of R131,265 (Level 02).

Vhembe Far North: 2 Positions

Who We Are Looking For:
A minimum of Grade 10, or an ABET/AET certificate, or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
Experience in security services would be a plus.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills—you should be able to read and write.
Good communication skills and strong interpersonal relations.
The ability to write reports.

Your Responsibilities:
In this role, your duties will include:

Performing routine manual farming activities.
Controlling the movement of cloven-hoofed animals.
Stopping, registering, and searching vehicles entering the redline area.
Checking various products such as meat, dairy, dung, grass, and hides.
Confiscating and properly disposing of prohibited items.
Opening and closing gates as required.
Reporting any confiscated products to your supervisor.
Conducting regular fence patrols and routine checks of the redline fence.
Repairing any breaks in the fence and clearing bushes along the perimeter.
Managing quarantined animals and checking necessary permits.
Working closely with Animal Health Technicians for inspections.
Keeping accurate records, including a register of permits and vehicle movements.
