Remuneration (Per Annum)

• CB1-1: R212,358
• CB1-2: R257,895
• CB1-3: R313,521

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12
• Correctional Science Learnership or Basic Training
• CB1-1: No previous experience required
• CB1-2: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience at CB1-1 level
• CB1-3: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience at CB1-2 level

Required Competencies and Attributes

• Computer literacy
• Firearm competency
• Good communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
• Understanding of Minimum Security Standards for Correctional Centres

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be required to:

• Perform access control within correctional centres
• Control inmate movement internally and externally
• Guard inmates within correctional facilities and external institutions
• Conduct physical security inspections
• Control stores and security equipment
• Manage security control room operations
• Support offender rehabilitation through correction and human development
• Ensure a secure, safe, and humane detention environment
