The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) is recruiting entry-level Police Trainees for the 2025/2026 intake.
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
• Intensive academy training
• Approx. 18 months training duration
• Opportunity for permanent appointment upon successful completion
• Deployment within the City of Johannesburg
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
✔ South African citizen
✔ Age 18–35 years
✔ Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4)
✔ Valid Code B driver’s licence (NOT learner’s)
✔ Resident within City of Johannesburg
✔ No criminal record
✔ Physically & mentally fit
✔ Willing to undergo vetting, medical & fitness assessments
✔ No visible tattoos when in uniform
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
• Certified SA ID
• Certified Matric certificate
• Certified driver’s licence
• Updated CV
• Proof of residence
• Medical fitness certificate
Incomplete or unclear documents may result in disqualification.
TRAINING STIPEND
• JMPD Trainee: ± R6,500 per month
• Uniform, accommodation & meals provided during training
• Medical aid during training period
